I just finished updating my being-purpose statement. Basically, a being purpose statement is a written statement of why I am here. The difference between the being purpose statement and the life purpose statement is that my being purpose tells who I am (or want to be) and the life purpose statement tells what I want to do.
My update was simply to add the phrase “I endevor to receive and know the love of my Bridegroom (Ephesians 3:17-20).” I added this phrase because my being purpose statement was too much about me and what I wanted. I have been overwhelmed by God’s love for me lately, and I want to reflect that in my life. I want to be rooted and grounded in His love, for when I am then will others see Him in me. But if I don’t know His love and just keep striving on my own, others will see nothing but futile attempts at holiness which lead nowhere. From now on, I want to allow God’s love to infiltrate every aspect of my life.
